Stadium Update #5739343

Milan suggested a couple of weeks ago that the volume of complaints about the relocation of the North Stand for the second half of next season could well cause the plans to change.

And today that idea has come into official-dom with the demolition of the North Stand now put on hold until the summer of 2006, with pitch rotation at the same time. The building work on the new North End behind the current North Stand will continue as per schedule, as will the lengthening of the Fratton, er, Side, but North Stand season ticket holders can go and get the money back on their binoculars.

Unfortunately, Milan has created a lose-lose situation for himself. When he said he wanted to go ahead regardless and get on with it, fans complained about their view being of dubious quality for six months. Now he's delayed it and fans are complaining it's never going to be built, digging out the "typical Pompey" mutters and shaking their fists angrily. Despite the fact the plans to build the North End are still going ahead as per anyway.

Such is life I suppose!
