Portsmouth have been handed a home draw against AFC Wimbledon in the first round of the Carabao (League) Cup.
The seedings were removed for the draw this year as Pompey faced difficult ties against higher league opposition in round one in previous seasons but that ended up making no difference with the Blues being handed opposition from the lower reaches of the same division.
Still, it's a draw that Pompey will be favourites for given the Dons' struggles last year and Kenny Jackett is bound to play a strong side being a manager who respects all cup competitions, even the worthless Checkatrade Trophy.
Who knows? Maybe this will be the season that Pompey can finally embark on a decent cup run despite being in League One.
The tie probably won't be selected for TV and so is likely to be played on Tuesday, August 14th with a 7:45pm kick-off although this, along with ticket prices, is yet to be confirmed.
