Mysteries Of Fratton Park

It seems the FA detectives like to open cases that involve Portsmouth Football Club. Remember earlier on in the season when Rupert Lowe threw his toys out of his pram because Pompey had "unlawfully" stolen Harry Redknapp? Well guess what? The authorities are out in an attempt to unravel some "dirt" once again.

Recently the Police have been investigating the recent investment of Sacha Gaydamak, with claims from a dossier that Sacha doesn't have as much money as he says and that in fact he used his father; Arcadi's money to invest in the club.

Now on top of that the FA are conducting another probe into Harry Redknapp's involvement with football amid speculation that "certain" people had been placing bets on Redknapp returning to Portsmouth in full knowledge that he was going to do so. Redknapp, Mandaric and Storrie have all seen the FA at their request and have denied any knowledge of such bets.

It makes me wonder that if Sacha is found guilty of using his fathers money to purchase his half of Pompey, what sort of punishment would he recieve or even worse, what sort of punishment the club itself would incur. I'm still confident that this will amount to nothing, but after Altrincham were deducted 18 points for fielding a player without international clearance it does make you wonder that if, by chance that this investiagtion did reveal that Sacha used his fathers' money to buy his stake in PFC then we could easily be deducted points too.

That also goes for the insider betting probe, although because the club itself wasn't involved in that then surely the club can't be deducted points if Redknapp was found guilty of such a crime? Having said that I'm no expert in authority or punishment so expect anything that's if he is found guilty.

And that is a big "if" in my opinion. I fully trust Sacha, Milan and even Redknapp on these issues and as I said before, I'm confident that both investigations will amount to nothing dirty on Pompey or its associates but these things are hardly helping our fight against relegation.

On the other hand I could just be talking rubbish and these investigations will all blow over without ever being heard of again.
