Mvuemba Becomes Fifth Signing

Pompey have confirmed the permanent signing of Arnold Mvuemba from Rennes for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £2 million.

The 22-year-old has signed a three year deal at the club and this signing has taken Pompey's current summer spending to a reported £9 million, excluding the compensation fee paid to Southampton for Cranie.

I've always been quite impressed the with the Frenchman whenever he's been in the Pompey side. He has some good technical ability and can hold his own in the centre of a Premier League midfield. With experience he'll only get better and I just hope that Harry gives him enough opportunity to show the quality he's got, like he did at Watford.

This news comes from the new Portsmouth FC official website which can be found at www.portsmouthfc.co.uk and looks a lot more professional than our previous premiumtv site. There are still a couple of problems to solve on it though, as the site runs very slow for me and my broadband connection isn't exactly slow at 2MB and occasionally clicking a link will bring up an SQL error.

The squad list on the site doesn't show Toddy or Kanu because they're out of contract. Also, if you don't use flash then you're not going to be able to see much on it, because virtually the whole site uses it.
