Yakubu in "possible transfer" shocker

Today's Daily Mirror sensationally reveals that Portsmouth's star Nigerian hit-man Yakubu could be set for a £7m move to Middlesbrough!

Er... hang on.

We've been here before, haven't we? Like, the entire of last summer. And the entire of the January transfer window. If it wasn't Middlesbrough it was Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, Birmingham and Aston Villa. For a fee ranging from £150bn to 50p and a packet of Monster Munch (which is probably nearer the mark given his recent performances).

Whereas twelve months ago this sort of story would've been concering, now it's just dull and par for the course. What's more, it's about a player who - fantastically talented as he is - blatantly doesn't care anymore and has entered his "Beattie" stage. Forgive my swearing while I explain - outsiders looking in think he's great, our biggest asset and we couldn't live without him, whilst a majority of supporters want him on his way and cash in the bank.

Still, the media campaign to move him on his way has begun!
