Yak Attack

There's no doubt Yakubu is one of the best assets at the club, a fact proven by the sheer amount of speculation surrounding the young striker. With nineteen goals last season and ten so far this time, there's no surprise that he's in demand - Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Villa and Everton all apparently keen on securing his services.

Milan rates him as a £10-12m player, and now has offered him a new deal to last until 2008. Not only that, but he'll be paid £25,000 a week, making him amongst the highest earners at the club.

Some have accused the Yak of being too lazy and uninterested recently, criticisms that plagued him this time last year when he had only managed four goals. But there's no doubt he's got pace to burn and has a habit of being in exactly the right place at exactly the right time, not to mention decent understandings that he's built up with LuaLua and Kamara.

Go on Yak - sign and end the speculation!
