Who Is Going Where?

By Jim Bonner
Tuesday, 31st August 2010
The page to track the latest news on where the Pompey players might be next season. (Updated 31st August: Transfer deadline day special!)
The transfer window has now slammed shut, but expect some announcements still to come.

LATEST: Marc Wilson has joined Stoke City as expected. Pompey have got Dave Kitson on a three-year-deal, Liam Lawrence on a four-year-deal and £1 million in exchange.

QPR have confirmed the signing of Tommy Smith, subject to Football League approval. The fee is expected to be around £1.5 million.

Promising youngster James Hurst has rejoined West Brom. The 18-year-old was on loan at Icelandic side IBV.

There is still some confusion about David Nugent's future, with Blackpool reportedly signing the player on loan but that has yet to be confirmed.

Out Of Contract

Ricardo Rocha: Steve Cotterill has grown impatient with Rocha and so has pulled the plug on the deal, meaning we probably won't be seeing him again in a Pompey shirt.

Hermann Hreidarsson: Reiterated his desire to stay at the club, despite an original derisory offer from Andrew Andronikou.

The Assets

Aaron Mokoena: Has stayed with Pompey despite interest from abroad.

Hayden Mullins: Likely to stay but had previously been linked with a reunion with Alan Pardew at Southampton.

Michael Brown: It's doubtful that any top flight club would want him, so should stay at Fratton Park.

Richard Hughes: Could possibly stay as he is likely to be a regular in the team next year after so many years of being a fringe player.

Matt Ritchie: Swindon have been sniffing around, but Ritchie wants to stay at the club and probably will do for the forseeable future. (If there is such thing as a "forseeable future" at this club!)

John Utaka: Has seemingly stayed with Pompey as nobody wanted him.

Danny Webber: The most likely player to stay with us given that he is on low wages and wasn't even wanted by League One teams last year.

Loan Returns

Jamie O'Hara: Surprisingly hasn't moved from Tottenham.

Returning From Loan

David Nugent: Could be offloaded to Blackpool, but Pompey are also rumoured to be interested in selling to Burnley for cash and a player.

Released

Steve Finnan: The highest profile name to be released by Pompey so far who hasn't yet found a new club.

Angelos Basinas: Hasn't been offered a new contract. I expect he'll return to Greece for a year.

OJ Koroma: The forgotten man has had problems with injuries and has been released.

Resolved: Gone

Marc Wilson: Has completed his move to Stoke for £1 million plus Dave Kitson and Liam Lawrence.

Tommy Smith: Has signed for Queens Park Rangers for a reported £1.5 million, subject to Football League approval.

David James: Has signed for Bristol City on a one-yeal deal with the option of an extra year.

Kevin-Prince Boateng: Has signed for Genoa in a deal that exceeds £5 million, but will be loaned to AC Milan for the season.

Nadir Belhadj: Has signed for Qatari giants Al Sadd for a fee of around £3.5 million according to Andrew Andronikou.

Anthony Vanden Borre: Snubbed a move back to Pompey and joined Hapoel Tel-Aviv on loan.

Tal Ben-Haim: Has been loaned to West Ham for the remainder of 2010.

Aruna Dindane: Has joined newly promoted Qatari side Lekhwiya, signing a three year contract.

Papa Bouba Diop: Has signed for AEK Athens for a reported £300,000.

Frederic Piquionne: Has signed for West Ham on a three-year-deal from Lyon.

Lennard Sowah: Has signed for Hamburg for a paltry £165,000 as he is out-of-contract, though the German side must pay Pompey "training compensation" for him.

Hassan Yebda: Has signed for Napoli on loan from Benfica.

Resolved: Retained

Kanu: Andrew Andronikou says the Nigerian has signed a three-year contract, with a coaching deal offered when he retires.

Jamie Ashdown: Has re-signed a new contract with the club despite previously being released last summer.

Joel Ward: Signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2012.

Tom Kilbey: Signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2011.

Marlon Pack: Signed a contract extension to 2011 but has now joined Cheltenham on loan.

Transfers In

Ibrahima Sonko: Has signed on a season-long loan from Stoke.

Carl Dickinson: Has also signed on a season-long loan from Stoke.

Darryl Flahavan: Has signed on a month-long deal.

Dave Kitson: Has come to Pompey as part of the Wilson deal, signing a three year contract.

Liam Lawrence: Has come to Pompey as part of the Wilson deal, signing a four year contract.
