Should the Portuguese side win at Heerenveen and Pompey fail to claim victory, then we're out of the competition. On the other hand, Pompey could lose the game and still have their fate in their own hands if Heerenveen win.

If what John says is true, then Felix Magath will employ a diamond formation with the idea to "attack, attack, attack" which could leave them wide open down the wings for Belhadj and Johnson to run at them.
