Up The Duffy

Richard Duffy, remember him? Probably not. After all, if my (bad) memory serves me correctly he has made one substitute appearance for Pompey since he signed for us and that was against Fulham at home two seasons ago. No doubt if I'm wrong someone will tell me (and no friendlies do not count!)

Duffy had been learning his trade in The Championship with Burnley but this season he's on a season long loan at Coventry but he would have been out of contract come the end of the final game. That was until he signed a new contract with us so now the promising young Welshman will be staying with Pompey. Micky Adams obviously wasn't anticipating Duffy signing and he was no doubt thinking he could snap him up on the cheap. When he had signed Adams said about him "I am sure it will be nice playing for their reserves!" So if you ever meet the ex Less-Stir manager in a pub be sure to buy him a pint of bitter.

Duffy has had some good reviews during his time in The Championship and next season we may see more of him, whatever division we're in. So let's not forget about Duffy (if you had in the first place...) as I'm sure he has a big part to play in Pompey's future.

In other news Gary O'Neil vows to play through the pain barrier in an attempt to keep Pompey up despite his ankle injury. I just hope this injury will not curb his performances on the pitch like it seems to have done to Dejan.

Oh and Redknapp said something about the possibility of staying up this season for the 2965th time...
