Transfer Twaddle #5363

Another day, another host of rumours.

One of the biggest currently billowing round Fratton is the story that Amdy Faye is set to complete a £2.2m move to Newcastle, who are also allegedly still interested in the Yak. In fact some sources have the Toon down as putting in a £12m bid for the pair - because that would make sense, what with the Yak alone being rated at £12m. Amdy Faye himself claims to "know nothing" about the move, although I'd still expect more to come out of those whispers as time goes on.

Elsewhere David Unsworth seems a potential new favourite to tread the recently well-worn path from Portsmouth to Southampton. The player's agent - a friend of Harry's - is quoted as saying, "David came to Portsmouth because of Harry Redknapp, and now he's at Southampton". Well, ten out of ten for observation Mr Agent, clearly nothing gets past you. The fact he's contracted to us and irritated Southampton fans by kissing the club badge during the match at St Marys probably won't endear him to the crowd either. Having said that, I can see a possibility of a move there - it would be the third time that he has followed Harry in his career. If we can get a nice sum of money for him, what with Taylor and Stefanovic as possible left back options, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Still very few rumours about players coming in; some suggest that Wayne Routledge is set to move from Crystal Palace with Berkovic involved as part of a swap deal! I'd love to see that and you never know, but I won't hold my breath. Mainly because I'd die. More rumours out of Eastern Europe as well that the famous Panathinaikos defender who sounds like someone cleaning out their nose, Sotiris Kyrgiakos, seems set NOT to join Rangers after talks over personal terms stalled. We might go back for him yet, although I can't see many chants in his honour should we steal his signature.
