Transfer Tattle (Again)

The latest rumours to come from the depths of the rumour mill:

Henri Camara

This one seems to be the strongest transfer rumour going around at the moment with Camara saying himself that Wigan are not a big club, not the sort of thing you want to be saying to your employers is it? His agent; Willie McKay says that Portsmouth would be a "dream move" for him however this was the same greedy bullshitting agent that told Yakubu he would be better off away from a club with "no potential". It's never been a secret that Harry admires Camara and he is a quality player though at 29 he isn't getting any younger and his pace; his main attribute, will be diminishing slowly every game he plays. He scored 12 goals for Wigan last season though, and that was despite going off the the African Cup of Nations in January. You have to ask though, is he really any better than we have already got?

Stilian Petrov

The other big rumour doing the rounds in Portsmouth is that of Petrov's possible transfer to Pompey if the clubs can agree a fee. There are many other clubs after him though so it would seem a deal would be far from finished for the wantaway Celtic man. I haven't seen him play very often but he is held in high regard and he has shown quality when I have seen him play, but we all know that the English Premiership is a very different league to the "Mickey Mouse" Scottish Premier League.

John Hartson

One transfer rumour that has now died down as we are quoted to "not be interested anymore." Smokescreen? We'll see...

Curtis Davies

Apparently a £6,000,000 transfer target from West Brom. As good as he may be and with as much potential as he has, Davies was still an integral part of a defence that conceded many goals last season and I can certainly remember a couple of costly errors he made in certain games. The price tag being touted is far too steep in my opinion, although he isn't going to go for less than £3,000,000 as Spurs found out when their own bid was rejected.

Paolo Di Canio

Oh it's this rumour again! How many times have we heard this now? Ten? Twenty? Ah but it's deeper than that... it's rumoured that Di Canio is a possible candidate to replace Kevin Bond as the first team coach! Take this one with a pinch of salt guys... I don't see this one happening.

In other news, we may or may not be signing Andres D'Alessandro (though Benfica are rumoured to have made a bid)

That's all for the time being.
