Tony To Stay

Harry Redknapp was given a big boost today when Pompey assistant manager Tony Adams verbally agreed to stay at the club for another year.

Earlier in the year it looked if so the ex-Arsenal stalwart was going to leave Fratton Park to re-persue a career in management but towards the end of last season it looked as if Adams had a change of heart, and that looks to have been confirmed.

The news will be welcomed by all Pompey fans as it could be argued that Adams' arrival at the club was more important than any of the others as he influenced a defence that has made a major improvement in the last year.

Hopefully Avram Grant follows suit as his future at the club is still in doubt with Chelsea reportedly interested in recruiting him.
