The Transfer Talk Begins

It has only been two days since the FA Cup triumph at Wembley and already it looks like Harry Redknapp and Peter Storrie are going to sign some new players fairly soon.

The tabloids and other sources are reporting that Harry is interested in signing Younes Kaboul from Tottenham. Kaboul has had a pretty laughable spell at White Hart Lane and looks set to leave, giving Redknapp the green light to sign the player he has been tracking for a couple of years now.

The BBC are reporting that Mauro Zarate, on loan at Birmingham this season is having talks with Portsmouth officials though no fee has been agreed with parent club Al-Saad for the 21-year-old Argentinian. Given our lack of creativity this season I think that a flair player such as Zarate would be a great signing for the team if the price is right.

There are also rumours that Harry Kewell is set to join Pompey after signing a contract after he was told he could leave Liverpool following an injury hit spell at Anfield. The Australian, 29, has denied these claims which usually means something is about to happen.

As for players staying at the club, it looks like Sol Campbell will stay at Pompey after saying he has "no reason to leave" and that he is looking forward to playing in Europe next season.

Kanu is also hoping that he will be offered a new deal and after scoring at Wembley twice and making the required number of appearances this season I can't see why he won't be staying with us.

Stay tuned as there is bound to be plenty more transfer talk in the coming months!
