The Opposition View: Yeovil Town

Last updated : 02 October 2015 By Jim Bonner

What's your assessment of Yeovil's season so far and what are the expectations now?

Our season so far has been pretty terrible. A lengthy injury list has meant that we haven't been able to play some of our best players, including captain Ryan Dickson and Kevin Dawson, the only survivor from our Championship season.

We had a good win against Luton but overall we have been playing poorly and are only outside the bottom two on goal difference. The only expectation now is to survive and prevent a third consecutive relegation, anything more is a bonus.

What are the biggest strengths and weaknesses of this current Glovers side and who are the key players?

In my opinion our biggest strength is probably set pieces and long throws as we have plenty of big men to throw forward. I would say our biggest weakness is our defence, they're inexperienced and have a habit of sitting too deep and playing themselves into trouble.

Our key players are Artur Krysiak in goal who has kept the scoreline respectable several times this season and Harry Cornick who looks a promising player at either right wing or up front.

Jack Compton, Ryan Bird and Wes Fogden are former Pompey players. What do Yeovil fans think of them?

To be honest we've not been able to see much of Compton or Fogden this season due to injuries, but Fogden always caused problems for us whilst he was at Bournemouth. Bird, on the other hand has impressed and shown an eye for goal which is something we sorely lacked last season.

David Norris is a cult hero in Portsmouth but was released by Paul Sturrock after just one game. What happened?

Norris was signed on non-contract terms to cover injuries, but he wanted more security so left when Blackpool offered him a permanent contract. I would have liked him to stay longer as he would have added experience that we desperately need.

Now that Pompey have lost a game, how do you fancy your chances on Saturday?

Portsmouth have a quality team at this level and I'm sure Cook will have them fired up for this game, I'm not confident.

What kind of match can we expect at Fratton Park this weekend?

I imagine Portsmouth will dominate the game with us defending for our lives, we might be able to manage a counter attack or two, but our biggest chance will come from set pieces.

Predict the outcome of the game.

Heart says we can battle for a 1-1 draw, but head says 3-1 Portsmouth.
