The Opposition View: Hartlepool United

Last updated : 11 December 2015 By Jim Bonner

What's your assessment of Hartlepool's season so far?

Pretty poor. We started well but we've been too patchy after August.

How's Kal Naismith doing since he joined your club on loan?

Very well. He's speedy, obviously got good vision and is definitely a plus for us for however long we get to keep him.

What do Pools fans think of ex-Pompey keeper Trevor Carson?

After five seasons of Scott Flinders, he's been a revelation. Very popular amongst the fans.

Who are the key players in the Hartlepool squad?

Carl Magnay is the main man. We lost him to suspension for nine games and went through a very difficult period. Michael Duckworth is a good attacking threat and our loanee from Crystal Palace, Jake Grey, is our midfield dynamo.

What are the strengths and weaknesses of your team?

Our defensive midfield is our chief weakness as they put the defense under too much pressure. Our strength is pace up front which hasn't yet yielded goals in quantity but there is a threat there.

What kind of match can we expect at Fratton Park on Saturday?

Probably quite dull for the first half as we'll be feeling our way into the game, more intent on not conceding. In the second half we'll get more adventurous and concede at least three!

Predict the outcome of the game.

Pompey 3-0 Hartlepool.
