The Opposition View: Crawley Town

Last updated : 06 March 2017 By Jim Bonner

What's your assessment on Crawley's season so far?

The season so far has been inconsistent. We can grab a good result such as a 0-0 against Doncaster but then lose 1-3 at home to Notts County. We are airy-fairy but give us a chance to play and we can hurt anyone.

Dean Cox was a target for Pompey this season before he opted to join Crawley. How has he performed for you?

Cox is obviously a good player but he has been finding his feet after being out for so long. His dead ball delivery is top notch but I feel he is still a couple of pounds overweight.

Who are the key players in this current Red Devils squad?

Key players are James Collins (18 goals), Mark Connolly (centre back) and Glenn Morris (keeper).

What are the main strengths and weaknesses of your team?

We are always likely to score a goal but we are always likely to let one in. We can play some lovely football and then gift a team a goal.

What kind of match can we expect? Crawley parked the bus in this fixture last season so can we expect the same again?

If we try to park the bus we will lose badly. That doesn't necessarily mean we won't but not it's really not a good idea for us. We do tend to dally around at the back though.

Predict the outcome of the game.

A narrow win for Portsmouth. We are not a play-off team but we should give a good account of ourselves.
