Ladies and Gentlemen, it's that time of year again for the award ceremony bigger than the Oscars, BAFTA's and PFA awards all put together! That's right; it's time for the Fratton Faithful Awards 2007!
Same as last year, readers can vote either via the "EMail The Editor" link in the bottom left of the Fratton Faithful homepage, just copy and paste the form at the bottom of this article. Alternatively you can vote by using the messageboard topic if you're a member by clicking here. Remember to only vote for ONE player or team or moment etc and make sure you make it clear who you are voting for.
So without further ado, here are the awards you can vote for. You can vote for anyone you like although there are some suggestions below if you can't think of any particular person to vote for:
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
Pompey Player Of The Season (2006 Winner: Gary O'Neil)
Has David James really been our best player this season or does Sol Campbell or Linvoy deserve it instead? Has Matty Taylor's goals swayed you into voting for him?
Worst Pompey Player Of The Season (2006 Winner: Laurent Robert)
Did Dejan lose his marker one too many times for you? Should Glen Johnson of returned to Chelsea earlier? Maybe Lomana LuaLua frustrated you more than ever. Your call.
Signing Of The Season (2006 Winner: Pedro Mendes)
Does Jamo receive this award? Sol Campbell has added international class to the defence and has has a very positive impact on Linvoy so maybe he gets your vote? What about Kanu? He has surprised everyone this season.
Flop Signing Of The Season (2006 Winner: Collins Mbesuma)
Ognjen Koroman never played much for us and neither did Roudolphe Douala. Was Djimi Traore really that bad to deserve this award? Are you one of the people who think Niko Kranjcar has been a flop?
Pompey Goal Of The Season (2006 Winner: Matthew Taylor 2nd vs Sunderland (A))
Matty Taylor's goal against Everton should end up winning this one hands down but what about his other strikes? Kanu has got a couple of decent goals too...
Pompey Miss Of The Season (2006 Winner: Todorov vs Wigan (A))
Benjani managed to scoop the ball over from two yards against Reading, Gary O'Neil missed a great chance at Everton and no doubt there's plenty of others I'm sure you can think of.
Pompey Save Of The Season (2006 Winner: Kiely vs Camara (Wigan Away))
Which one of Jamo's saves did you like best? He has produced so many it's hard to pick just one!
Pompey Gaffe Of The Season (2006 Winners: Ashdown OG vs Gillingham/Selling Arjan De Zeeuw)
You could vote for anything here whether it was failing to strengthen the side, an individual error that cost us a goal, a gaffe off the pitch or maybe even from the tannoy announcer! There's a few candidates here...
SEASON AWARDS
Moment Of The Season (2006 Winner: Mendes' 2nd Goal vs Man City)
The victory against Man United certainly has to be a candidate. Maybe you were one of the lucky ones who saw us go 2-0 up at Arsenal or perhaps you were there at Boro when we won 4-0. There's certainly been plenty of good moments this season, that's for sure!
Worst Moment Of The Season (2006 Winner: Birmingham 5 Pompey 0)
If we're talking about games then the awful defeats away at Newcastle, Wigan, Blackburn and Watford are surely contenders. Other horrible moments to think about are Poll's "offside" ruling, Alan Ball's death and losing at home to Charlton.
Performance Of The Season (2006 Winner: West Ham 2 Pompey 4)
There's been a few. The home games against Blackburn, Man United, Reading and Liverpool were excellent performances as were the results away at Middlesbrough, Charlton, West Ham and Arsenal. As I said, before it's you that decides and not me.
Worst Performance Of The Season
Take your pick from any of those dire away defeats and throw in that defeat to Charlton and maybe even the home draw against Boro and you have your candidates.
Most Exciting Game (2006 Winner: West Ham 2 Pompey 4)
The 2-2 draws with Arsenal and Villa were both belters and the game with United was also top notch entertainment. No doubt there are other games you thoroughly enjoyed too!
Most Boring Game (2006 Winner: Pompey 0 Wigan 2)
0-0 draws against Man City, Boro, Liverpool and Villa definitely make the shortlist as do a couple of narrow 1-0 defeats to the likes of Wigan and Charlton. The 1-1 draws against Spurs and Sheffield United also stick out in my mind but it's up to you.
Comedy Moment Of The Season (2006 Winner: Perrin's Sarcastic Applause at Bolton)
Maybe you couldn't stop laughing when Rio put the ball in his own net? Perhaps it was Davis' hilarious copycat protest to the ref when Tottenham's Lee dived at Fratton Park? Were you one of the few singing "Hitler, give us a wave!" to David James at Anfield? Or maybe Dejan lying on the ball to stop it crossing the goal line on the opening day wins it for you?
OPPOSITION AWARDS
Best Opposition Team (2006 Winner: Arsenal)
Vote for the best Premiership team to have played us this season whether they performed well against us home and away or whether they just produced one outstanding performance against us.
Worst Opposition Team (2006 Winner: Sunderland)
Exactly the opposite of "Best Opposition Team" funnily enough!
Best Opposition Player (2006 Winner: Thierry Henry/Steven Gerrard)
Was the serial winker Ronaldo impressive enough to win this award? Was Jonathan Woodgate so rock solid at Fratton Park that he gets your vote? No Henry to vote for this time as he never played against us!
Worst Opposition Player (2006 Winner: Kevin Kyle/Paul Dickov)
James Beattie anyone? Maybe one of the Watford players made you say "How awful is he!?" The same could be said for players of West Ham, Charlton, Wigan etc.
Best Away Fans at Fratton Park (2006 Winner: Sunderland)
Which set of fans impressed you the most at Fratton Park? I personally thought that Villa's teletubbies were the best, but then I'm easily amused at times...

The winner of this award doesn't necessarily have to be anyone associated with Southampton. Vote for anyone who has really annoyed you this season whether it be Graham Poll, Ben Thatcher, Joey Barton, James Beattie, Peter Crouch, Lomana LuaLua etc. You get the point...
