The big one - Leeds United v Portsmouth

Last updated : 23 April 2004 By Alex Dale
Chances are, there will be no repeat of the 6-1 scoreline Portsmouth handed out to United earlier in the season. But with Portsmouth undefeated in five and Leeds licking their wounds following a 5-0 drubbing at Arsenal, this game couldn't have come at a better time.

Portsmouth's Serbian defender Dejan Stefanovic said of the match: "We picked up three important points against Manchester Unitedand the scenes in the dressing room afterwards were ecstatic.

"But we will remain positive going into the Leeds game. It is a much bigger game than Manchester United and we need something from it. It is a massive match for our season.

"We are a strong side, especially at home, but we need to stay focused."

Harry Redknapp is desperatly trying to calm everything down after the win against the reigning champions raised the bar of Pompey fan's expectations. The team seem in better shape than their hosts, with manager Eddie Gray admitting he is feeling the pressure of the relegation battle. But, as we all know, football is an unpredictable game, and the only thing that's for sure is that both teams will be a great deal closer to learning their fate after the game.
