The Aftermath

Saturday's win over Manchester City will probably be remembered more for the Mendes-Barton incident than the fact that we actually managed to win a game and hence, there have been some reprecussions.

First and foremost, Pedro Mendes' injury doesn't look to be too bad. He could be ready to face Blackburn on the 25th which would be a huge boost for us considering how bad the injury looked and the fact that on his day, Pedro can change a game as we all know.

Following the game, Joey Barton is reportedly being investigated by the Police after being reported by the Pompey Chief Steward for making "abusive hand gestures". I wasn't even aware you could be investigated for such an offense! Let's face it, if people could be charged for making abusive hand gestures then we'd be a nation of criminals wouldn't we?

Speaking of being punished for petty crime, Harry Redknapp has been charged by the FA for foul and abusive language towards a match official. This obviously refers to his tirade towards the inept Mike Dean at half time and so no doubt the FA will issue some sort of silly fine or touchline ban as "punishment".

In other completely unrelated news; Milan Mandaric is set to make his takeover of Leicester City official tomorrow.

What is it about Pompey, Pedro Mendes and Man City eh?
