Thatcher Banned

Ben Thatcher has been banned by the FA for four games after his vicious assault on Pedro Mendes last month. This, added to the four games Man City themselves gave him has resulted in the "player" recieving a total of eight games in which he is certain to not take part in. Thatcher also has a suspended 15 game ban hanging over his head so should he commit another act of violence then that ban will be enforced.

In my opinion, I don't think the ban is long enough considering he attacked Mendes and the consequences could have been so much worse. If I remember rightly David Prutton got a 10 match ban for just acting violently towards an official, so where is the consistancy FA? Thatcher will be allowed to play at the end of October as he has already served two matches of the eight he is banned for. There's still a Police enquiry over the incident along with another brutal elbow Thatcher was guilty of in a reserve game back in February.

But is such a short ban for such a nasty incident justice? I don't think so.
