Taylor's season could be over

Taylor, who has been playing with the heel problem for the last few weeks with the aid of painkilling injections, is set to undergo an operation on the injury sometime this week.

"Matt Taylor will have his operation later this week," Pompey boss Harry Redknapp told The News website.

"He's struggling and we don't know if we will see him again this season. Hopefully we will.

"We hope the op won't be too bad and he will play again. He's been playing on it and having injections week in and week out and it's not fair to him."
