The England under-21 international has a heel wound which is likely to take another month to close.
"We're hoping it can be closed so that would leave me with a scar and another three to four weeks before I could do anything," Taylor told BBC Radio Solent.
"But that's football, I've got to be positive and hope I can play a part in keeping Pompey in the Premiership."
