Stefanovic Leaves For Fulham

Former Pompey captain Dejan Stefanovic has ended his four year stay with the club after signing a two year deal for Fulham as expected.

The 33-year-old Serbian was told by the manager that first team opportunities would be limited and once he was stripped of the captaincy, the writing was on the wall.

Despite the criticism Stefanovic received in the last year or so, I don't think anyone will forget the big part he played in keeping us in the Premiership during his first two seasons at the club, where he deservedly picked up the Pompey Player of the Year award for the 04/05 season.

Dejan is a top bloke and has served the club well for the majority of the time he was here, apart from a brief spell where he admitted that he didn't want to play for Alain Perrin.

He was well regarded as a character by the fans and having met him I also believe he's a top bloke so I wish him every success at Fulham.
