Milan Mandaric today revealed plans to build a super-stadium on the South Coast. The Chairman wants to capitalise on the club's catchment area and the roots of success that Graham Rix is currently planting.

Originally plans were constructed for Fratton goods yard but the 26,500 stadium has been scrapped in favour of something much bigger. This currently has thrown to speculated start date of the 17th December for the retail development that would of partly financed the new stadium - a bigger stadium would be constructed on the industrial park, with homes built on the current Fratton Park site.

As well as Fratton Goods yard, Fratton Faithful understands that the club are seriously looking at the Tipner site on the edge of the city centre. The club is keen to be part of the regeneration of Portsmouth Commercial ferry port and transport links would be enhanced by motorway and monorail access as well as better parking - The Fratton site could be sold to finance a complete move.

Mandaric wants Pompey to be the 'Sunderland of the South' and is willing to build a stadium that could be easily expanded to 50,000 if it needed to be. Plans have been changed due to Pompey's improved attendances this season as well as strong interest in participation in the new 'Premiership 2' league.

Terry Brady was Pompey's representative at the meeting and registered with the football league as a club who would be willing to form a new breakaway league.
