Sol Set To Start In Russia

Sol Campbell is set to win his 71st cap for England on Wednesday by deputising for John Terry after he locked his knee in training.

The England skipper had been passed fit to play at Russia for the vital Euro 2008 qualifier but has now been ruled out because of the injury suffered during training so Sol will step in.

From a Pompey fan's perspective this could be bad news for us as our captain could get injured on the artificial surface and even if he does play the full game, he won't be as fresh as our other players for the trip to Wigan.

On the other hand, it'll continue to add extra interest to the Pompey fans who don't care too much for the international break. Unlike the Estonia game, Campbell should be given a much more difficult test in Russia.
