Sky Announce TV Dates

Sky have announced that three of Pompey's fixtures have been switched for their television coverage.

The league season opener at Chelsea has been put back a day and will now be played on Sunday with a 1:30pm kick-off. The first home game of the season against Manchester United has also been moved back to a Monday with an 8pm kick-off time.

The third match is the home game with Tottenham, which has been moved to Sunday, September 28th for a 1:30pm kick-off. Surprisingly Setanta are not showing any of our first batch of league games on TV.

In addition to the three fixture changes for TV, the away game at Manchester City and the home clash with Stoke have been moved back a day as Pompey will be playing in the UEFA Cup the previous Thursday.

The pre-season friendly with Bournemouth has been moved forward to Monday, July 21st for a 7:45pm kick-off.

So it's reasonably good news for regular match goers who get annoyed when Sky intervene with their arrangements, though I'm personally not too happy about the United game being played on Monday night as I'd have much preferred a Saturday.
