Silva Injured In Car Crash

Former Uruguay and Pompey hitman Dario Silva has been seriously injured in a car crash on his homeland. The 33 year-old is said to have lost control of his car and crashed it into some street lights.

Unfortunately he is in intensive care at the moment and there are fears that he might have to have his right leg amputated. In fact, the BBC have reported that it has already been amputated because of fear of infection. If he does pull through, his playing career is certainly finished now.

Silva scored three goals during his short spell at Pompey but was known for his impressive work rate and willingness to run for the cause. Had he not been played up front on his own then I think he could have had a far more successful time at the club.

Fratton Faithful wishes Dario a quick and complete recovery after this tragic event.
