Nicky Shorey has signed a new one-year-deal with Portsmouth.
The 33-year-old eventually showed his class at League Two level after signing a short-term contract with Pompey in January once he was played in his correct position rather than as a central midfielder where his lack of pace was exposed.
What Shorey lacks in speed he more than makes up for with his experience and his ability on the ball. He should be a welcome addition to the squad as Andy Awford builds a squad capable of promotion.
