Rush job?

Whilst most of the media have been distracted by the "big names" - the likes of Gordon Strachan, David Pleat and Bobby Robson - this site likes to keep an ear close to the ground and pick up the hottest rumours as and when they appear. Milan had hinted earlier today that he didn't want to get into details about potential candidates because it might be offensive to the clubs of those involved ; suggesting that they were currently employed elsewhere.

And now a final piece of the puzzle clicks into place - a certain well known name with top flight experience as a player resigned from his job this morning. Ian Rush.

It's interesting that Rush has not felt the need to comment on the position at Portsmouth, almost as if he's pulling a veil of secrecy over the affair. What's more, he was spotted at Anfield last night as Liverpool took on Juventus - surely a scouting trip as we face Liverpool in the league in a couple of weeks time?
