Rix working on appeal

Graham Rix is working against the clock to get a red card - unfairly given - against Primus so that a three match ban is overturned. The sending off was a turning point in the game and a real bolt out of the blue considering not one of the 12,000 spectators, any of the players or members of the press knew what was going on.

Add to this Linvoy's character then it was a baffling decision by the referee and one that cost Pompey dearly. Current TV evidence shows Primus being shackled by Morgan and there is no swipe of the elbow or even raising of the arms by Primus, but Rix isn't happy with this and wants Meridian TV to release footage taken from behind the goal to prove that Linvoy was unjustly sent off.

The manager has also been on the phone to Barnsley - hoping to secure an admission by Morgan that he was not struck by Primus. Considering the Barnsley player dived in the area and didn't try and change the referee's decision, this will be harder said then done.

Hopefully the appeal will be successful so that justice will prevail and a referee isn't able to inflict further misery on Pompey.
