Right Back Problems

Pompey's massive problem going into the important game at Ewood Park on Saturday is who will play at right back.

Glen Johnson and Younes Kaboul haven't trained this week and are almost certain not to feature against Blackburn whilst Noe Pamarot is banned following his red card against Arsenal last week. Marc Wilson is also a long-term casualty and so can't play either.

So who plays at right back on Saturday? Pompey do have two natural right backs who could fill that position in Lauren and Martin Cranie but the latter was torn apart by Nathan Dyer when he last played for Pompey against Swansea and I forgot that Lauren even played for us until today!

But can they be trusted to step in and perform? Does Paul Hart have any alternatives? Maybe he will play Belhadj at right back as he has been known for a "square pegs in round holes" approach or perhaps he will surprise us all and send Linvoy into battle?

If the magic sponge doesn't do the trick on either Johnson or Kaboul's injuries then I fear that Blackburn will exploit the biggest weakness in our defence as I don't trust any of our other players to play there due to lack of ability (Cranie) or lack of match practice (Lauren and Primus).

We'll see what Paul Hart can come up with on Saturday...
