Redknapp Corts Newcastle striker

With loan deals for Francis Jeffers and Milan Baros proving non-starters, and Jason Roberts leaving for Wigan (where he scored within a minute of his debut, by the way), Harry Redknapp has stepped up his search for cover for the unavailable duo of Yakubu Ayegbini and Vincent Pericard by plotting a loan move for Newcastle United's Carl Cort.

Cort, for whom the Magpies paid a mind-boggling £7 million pounds to sign, hasn't started a Premiership game in two years and surely a move to Fratton Park would be a good way to kickstart his career.
