Redknapp And Mandaric Charged With Tax Evasion

Harry Redknapp and Milan Mandaric have been charged with two accounts of tax evasion and will face trial on Monday, January 23rd 2012.

Judge Anthony Leonard QC lifted the ban on reporting about the case from Saturday 2:30pm onwards. The case relates to two alleged payments totalling around £183,000 by Mandaric to Redknapp via an offshore account in Monaco. This was allegedly to avoid income tax and national insurance payments.

The trial is expected to last two weeks and will take place at Southwark Crown Court.
