Prosinecki released from international duty

When Robert Prosinecki signed for Pompey, one of the pitfalls would be that the club would lose their mecurial genius to international duty for a substantial amount of time this season as Crotia prepare for the World Cup next year.

However that fear seems to be subsiding with the news that the Croatian FA have allowed Prosinecki to miss the upcoming friendly matches in Korea. It seems that the Croats know what 'Robbie' can do and are happy to try out other players.

This means that it is only Gary O'Neil who will be missing from the starting line up due to international duty - the other absentee will be Mladen Rudjona, who despite being completely ignored in Portsmouth, is still being picked for the Slovenian national side.

However it is the news that Prosinecki will be lining up at Turf Moor on Saturday that will please Pompey fans.
