Pompey vs Fulham Preview

It doesn't seem so long ago that Pompey were turning out at Pride Park for the season opener but here we are at the end of another Premier League campaign already.

Whatever happens tomorrow, we can look back on what has been a very good season on the whole and then forward to the FA Cup Final. On the other hand, Fulham fans will be hoping they can complete a very unlikely escape from relegation with a win at Fratton Park.

Harry Redknapp has promised Reading and Birmingham that he will field a strong side to arrest this poor run of results going into the Cup Final. However, it seems that Sol Campbell, Kanu and David James won't be able to play and Noe Pamarot will be given a run out to prove that he should play at Wembley.

Sulley Muntari and John Utaka may have recovered in time to play a part in the game whilst Milan Baros should start up front with Jermain Defoe who will be playing his last game of the season.

The cottagers side looked dead and buried when they were 2-0 down at Man City two weeks ago but they staged a late comeback to win 3-2, beat Birmingham last week and now have their fate in their own hands.

Roy Hodgson will most likely name an unchanged side from the win against the Brummies and it wouldn't surprise me to see ex-Pompey man Diomansy Kamara get involved with events tomorrow.

Dejan Stefanovic won't be playing after his fall out with Hodgson and he's even tipped his side to get beaten by Pompey and condemning them to relegation!

I quite like Fulham and the annual trip to Craven Cottage but from a selfish point of view we really need to perform and stop the rot because we certainly won't want to go into the Cup Final on the back of four straight defeats.

The game is ultimately more important to Fulham but with our superior side I would expect the team to perform in front of our own fans and give us a good send off before the biggest game we're ever likely to see on May 17th.
