Pompey Takeover On The Horizon?

Last updated : 10 November 2008 By Jim Bonner
A South African consortium are in advanced stages of preparing a takeover for Portsmouth Football Club, according to reports.

The gold-mining group allegedly met with Pompey representatives over the weekend to hold talks and according to club sources, the talks are said to be going "very well".

However, it is also rumoured that football super-agent Pini Zahavi is interested in buying the club and if he is successful, will immediately boot Tony Adams out of the club and replace him with Avram Grant.

No Portsmouth FC officials would comment on the financial situation of the club but it looks like Sacha and Pompey could be saved from a nasty financial crisis in January and that can only be good news for us fans (at least on the face of it anyway).
