Pompey Sign Non-League Striker

Pompey have signed Hampton & Richmond striker Jamal Lowe for an undisclosed fee with the player to join his new club in January.

The 22-year-old has already scored 18 goals in the National League South this season and is extremely popular with Hampton fans as many are backing him to make the step up to the football league with ease.

This is certainly a surprising signing but Pompey have been scouting him for a while. It's undoubtedly a bit of a punt but these signings can work out as Dwight Gayle and Charlie Austin have proved in the past. However, there's just as much chance that Lowe will become the next Ryan Bird (now at Eastleigh, for the record) so we shouldn't become too excited yet.

Jamal will wear the number 17 shirt when he arrives. Let's hope he makes a positive impact on the squad and doesn't get shipped out on loan by the time summer 2017 arrives.
