Pompey Sign Kanu

As expected, Pompey have completed the signing of Nwankwo Kanu. He signs on a one year deal for free.

I am worried that Kanu will become a boo boy for the fans already despite not even kicking a ball for us this season! Yes, I know he isn't the ambitious striker signing we were all hoping for but the bottom line is that we're short of strikers at the moment with Lua Lua injured and Benjani struggling for fitness so we will need another striker. Despite Kanu signing, I am sure Harry will continue to search for another striker who is capable of scoring us 15 goals a season but until then we have to make do with what we have got.

Kanu doesn't have a great scoring record but his hold up play is pretty good and he can bring other players into the game. I think, ultimately the only way Kanu is going to silence his Pompey critics is by scoring against Blackburn this Saturday. You never know, Harry might just be able to get the best out of him.

In other news, Sulley Muntari; the Ghana and Udinese left-sider looks set to be joining Pompey for £8.5 million and that's according to the player who says the deal is "99% done".

We shall see...
