Pompey Set To Sign Duo

It has been announced today that a deal has been struck for two players who currently play for French clubs; Olivier Thomert and Achille Emana.

Emana is thought to be a tough tackling midfielder that plays in a holding role or on the right, much like Michael Essien. The Cameroon international is 23 years old and is reported to cost around £2,700,000 from Toulouse with a three year deal agreed.

Thomert is a left sided player who likes to get forward and can also play a strikers role. He is highly rated in France by some though speaking to a Lens fan about him she seemed happy to let him go because he is too moody and inconsistant but undoubtedly has talent. Thomert hasn't agreed to join Pompey yet but a fee with Lens has been agreed at around about £7 million. Let's hope the 26 year old is worth what would be our record transfer signing.

Andres D'Alessandro will not be signing for Pompey now, opting to join Real Zaragoza on loan instead. Disappointing really but I would think Thomert would be his replacement so here's hoping he will have the same impact as little Andres did.
