Any hopes Pompey fans had of winning the FA Cup have now been severely dented as Portsmouth got the hardest possible draw for the 4th round of the FA Cup: Manchester United away.
This is the first time we will meet the Red Devils in a cup competition since the 4-1 defeat in our Championship winning season. I don't think there was a harder draw we could have got and being as optimistic as I want to be, it's going to take a monumental performance to knock them out of the cup on their own ground so we face a likely exit.
If, by chance we can force a replay then we might have a chance but personally, I believe we should keep our focus on finishing as high in the league as possible and save our dreams of Wembley for another season.
Why is the FA Cup draw always unkind to us? In the last 5 years we have been knocked out by Liverpool, Southampton, Arsenal, Man United and errr.. Leyton Orient.
The tie will be played on either the 26th, 27th or 28th of January and I expect it will be on the tele too.
