Pompey Draw Stevenage In Carling Cup

Portsmouth have been drawn away to Stevenage FC in the first round of the Carling Cup.

This will be Pompey's first League Cup first round tie since 2002 after finishing bottom of the Premier League, whilst this will be the Stevenage's first League Cup tie ever having been promoted to the Football League for the first time in their history.

This is also Pompey's first ever game against The Boro and they will make the trip to Lamex Stadium on the week commencing August 9th.

Being such a historic tie, the game may well be televised along with Southampton's home tie with their new local rivals Bournemouth.

Let's hope we have a team by then, or this could well be one of the most embarassing defeats in the history of Portsmouth Football Club.
