Point Proven

Points are hard to come by down the bottom of the table but once again Pompey proved their fighting qualities to come from behind and secure another point against a top 6 side in our fight for survival.

Many people think Arsenal should have won, and if it wasn't for Adebayor missing chances even Benjani could have scored then we certainly would have. Speaking of Benjani, he played really well today and was definately one of our best players tonight I felt. It was quite baffling to see him being subbed although that didn't seem to matter as ten seconds later the crowd went nuts after Lua Lua headed in a vital equaliser. That celebration might have cost him as he went off injured but according to Harry he should be fit for Boro on Saturday.

You just knew it would be Henry who scored for Arsenal though after all the hype leading to his appearance in this match, and it was a well crafted goal too. But we did create our own chances and I thought we matched them for the majority of the game, playing better once we had got the equaliser. The ref and linesmen weren't exactly helpful either but then with Uriah Rennie in charge what do you expect? Tonight's result I feel is definately a point gained after falling behind, especially considering Arsenal have one of the best defences in the league. That result also keeps the unbeaten run and scoring in consecutive games run going... it's almost like we've forgotten what defeat feels like!

It's great to see the fighting spirit in the team is still burning, even if we ride our luck at times. It all points towards survival as we now have 29 points, level with Birmingham but with an inferior goal difference so fate is currently in one of our hands, if we dish out enough hammerings then we will be fine! It promises to be a tense easter though full of ramblings (such as John Hartson to Pompey yet again!) and nail biting moments but then we're Pompey fans so we're used to this aren't we?
