PETTERSON AND CROUCH MOVING ON

Fratton Faithful can reveal that Andy Petterson will be the first to move after being placed 'again' on the transfer list early last week in a surprising move to West Brom.

Petterson will be the second Pompey keeper to move to the midlands, after Russell Hoult moved last year. Hoult has been a true success story with the Baggies, breaking their clean sheet record and been seen by many fans as the reason behind their teams successful season. It is unlikely that Petterson will make the same impact, but he is a good goalkeeper who has once again been poorly treated by Pompey.

Another player who has moved on is Peter Crouch. Pompey's top scorer has been called up to the England U-21 squad to face Italy this week. It is a move out of the Blue for the lanky striker after only one appearance for the U-20's. The U-21's represent the calibre of player Crouch is able to be as it is crammed full of Premiership all-stars.

However Crouch could become a Premiership star this week himself with further reports in the Sunday papers suggesting he has as good as signed for the Premiership Club. According to the Sunday People, Crouch will sign this week for a fee of £4.5million - and a further £800,000 depending on experiences. It would certainly prove good business for Pompey who shelled out £1.2million at the start of the season.
