New African Soccer Magazine Competition

Last updated : 20 April 2007 By Jim Bonner
Fratton Faithful is giving its readers a chance to win one of three copies of the April issue of New African Soccer, which predominantly features the African strikers of Pompey: Benjani, Kanu and Lomana LuaLua.

The magazine also has an interview with Arsenal's Kolo Toure and features on the recent chaos in Kenya and the African Nations Cup 2008 amongst a lot of other good stuff. It's well worth a read if you're interested in Pompey or African Football.

To get your hands on one of these magazines for free then you can enter the Fratton Faithful Quiz that I have devised. Entering is simple, just use the "EMail the Editor" link found in the bottom left corner of the site and submit the answers to the ten questions about Pompey's African players below:

1) Yakubu scored 4 minutes into his Pompey home debut against which team?

2) Which team did Yakubu score his last Pompey goal against?

3) Lomana LuaLua scored how many goals for Pompey during his loan spell at the club?

4) What nickname was Diomansy Kamara given when he joined Pompey?

5) Name the teams Kamara scored against during his one season at Pompey.

6) Valery Mezague joined Pompey on loan from which club?

7) What is Kanu's squad number for Nigeria?

8) Benjani made his Pompey debut against which team?

9) How much did Harry Redknapp claim he signed Lauren for in January 2007?

10) What nationality is Djimi Traore?

The three winners will simply be the three entrants that give the most correct answers. If, as expected, there is a tie then the winners will be drawn at random. The winners will be announced on Thursday 26th August so be sure to get your entries before then.

Alternatively, if you don't want to enter the competition or if you don't win then you can buy the special Pompey issue of New African Soccer Magazine available at a discounted price to Fratton Faithful readers.

To take advantage of this offer e-mail Julian Clark at: julian@newafricansoccer.co.uk

The Pompey issue of New African Soccer is priced at £2.50 in shops.

Good luck if you're entering the competition!
