Murphy Extends Deal

Brian Murphy has extended his deal at Portsmouth until the end of the season.

With Paul Jones still on the sidelines, Paul Cook has opted to give the 32-year-old a deal until the end of the season rather than sign another goalkeeper despite that position arguably being the weakest in his entire squad.

Needless to say, Murphy doesn't fill his defence with confidence with his poor decision making and erratic handling. He has made a few blunders this season but on the flip side he is a good shot stopper and has produced some excellent saves too.

In other news, Caolan Lavery is expected to extend his loan at Pompey until the end of the season which now raises questions about Matt Tubbs' future at the club. Paul Cook has admitted that he may leave Pompey this month if he desires to play regular football.

Cook has also claimed that he isn't interested in signing Notts County midfielder Liam Noble after reports linked him to a move to Pompey.

There are bound to be some ins and outs during this month, however, so watch this space.
