Muntari Soon To Be Pompey

C4.com and other sources that follow Italian football have reported that Udinese midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari is on the verge of a move to Portsmouth, with the deal already said to be finalised.

Muntari's agent has stated: "Udinese have already wrapped up the deal with the English side and my client will go there. There are only a few details to tie up between the player and Portsmouth. We will meet up soon and there will be no problems."

The Ghana star has scored as many goals as he has received red cards this season (3) due to supposed personal issues with the club but prior to the 06/07 season Muntari was one of the standout performers of the World Cup and was admired by Roma and Fiorentina before what now looks likely to be a move to Fratton Park.

Muntari was also heavily linked to Pompey, with the player himself saying he was "99% certain" of playing for us last season only for the Udinese chairman to claim his 1% uncertainty was far stronger than Muntari's 99%.

Although no financial details of the supposed deal have been announced the general feeling is that he is leaving for a fee of £6 million, which would be a good price for such a quality player.

There's not much point in elaborating for the time being as the Serie A season isn't over yet and nothing is ever certain when it comes to Portsmouth Football Club. The signs are looking bright though...
