Mullins Makes Birmingham Move

Hayden Mullins has moved to Birmingham City on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old was officially voted Pompey's player-of-the-season for the 2010/2011 season and although he has taken plenty of stick from fans in the past, his performances at left back during the 2010 FA Cup run will be remembered.

Not only that, but the way our midfield fell apart last season when Mullins was loaned to Reading should tell you just how important he was to the team. I'd like to wish Hayden all the best at St. Andrew's.

Aaron Mokoena has also agreed to leave Fratton Park after a compromise deal was reached and is expected to be announced as Bidvest Wits' latest signing.

Most Pompey fans will not miss the South African. He will be remembered for one monumental performance against Tottenham at Wembley but other than that his showings have been average to dreadful since signing for the club back in 2009.

Michael Appleton now has eight senior players to work with and more departures are expected with Luke Varney and David Norris expected to leave soon.
