Moscow No-Go For Harry

A club spokesman for Portsmouth FC has dismissed silly rumours that Harry Redknapp will join Russian side CSKA Moscow for a huge sum of money.

"Harry Redknapp is very happy at Portsmouth. An approach from any other club would be unwelcome." is the statement the spokesman released today but I ask if was it really necessary.

I almost burst out laughing when I heard this "news" earlier today. Why would Harry leave a club and a country he is settled in for completely unknown territory for "more money" when he turned down Newcastle in January for a similar reason.

I don't think Sandra Redknapp would have fancied the icy chill of the Russian Capital either.

I honestly believe that there is only one job that Harry would leave Pompey for and that is the England job. Considering that Fabio Capello will probably have that role for the next four years I don't think we need to worry too much about Redknapp departing any time soon.

Harry could be heading to Moscow to look at Diniyar Bilyaletdinov of Lokomotiv. The 23-year-old has impressed in recent seasons but would be hard to prise away from the Russian league that is growing in stature and pays extremely well.

Going back to the rumour and I doubt we will read/hear a more stupid rumour regarding Pompey all summer unless Harry is linked with a sensational triple swoop for Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.

If Harry joins CSKA Moscow this summer I will get a Southampton FC tattoo printed on my forehead.
