Pompey midfielder Paul Merson admitted to feeling proud to be part of the squad that took the club back to the top-flight after a fifteen year absence.
"I am very proud. No-one expected this to happen, but the lads have been brilliant," he siad after the 1-0 victory over Burnley secured promotion."We deserved it, and have deserved it all season.
"Everyone played above their potential, they have been outstanding."
