McGurk Moves To Cambridge

Adam McGurk has completed a move to Cambridge United having made a deal to leave Portsmouth after just a season at the club.

The 27-year-old's exit comes as no surprise given that Paul Cook transfer listed him in the summer. Whilst he'll be remembered for the scremer he scored against Oxford last season he flattered to deceive on far too many occasions and won't really be missed by Pompey fans.

It'll be interesting to see if there's a "gentleman's agreement" in place to prevent McGurk from playing against Pompey and whether his new club stick to it. We wish him well at the Abbey but he was never going to get a game with the improvements to the Portsmouth squad.

With McGurk and Tubbs gone, Kal Naismith remains the only transfer listed player on Pompey's books and with Gary Roberts, Milan Lalkovic, Gareth Evans, Kyle Bennett and Ben Tollitt at the club the Scot's days at Pompey are surely numbered.

Hopefully the next piece of transfer news to come from Portsmouth is a top quality goalkeeper signing on the dotted line...
